Interns in the International Outreach Department at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine will have an opportunity to work closely with the coordinators to prepare for the upcoming international medical outreach trips. This could include, but is not limited to any of the following: Organizing trip supplies and medicines, Entering patient data in SPSS; filing patient charts, waivers and other trip documents; using Excel to create trip rosters, rotation schedules and other administrative spreadsheets; compiling lice, tinea and wound care kits; packing suitcases, exam bags and medical backpacks.

This is a great opportunity to learn the mechanics of preparing for and implementing an international medical trip. Interns will also have an opportunity to work directly with medical students, staff and faculty to gain healthcare-related knowledge and experience. Please note that there are also opportunities to individualize the internship in order to meet each individual’s career goals.

• Anatomy lab tour and lecture
• Medical school library tour
• Simulation Center training session
• Medical class lectures
• International outreach trip participation

Position Qualifications:
Junior/Senior with interest in becoming a physician; Spanish-speaking skill helpful but not necessary
