The Marketing department for Contec, Inc. is a team of 11 individuals who all work together cohesively in support four (4) key business units for the company + HR (total company). The team is divided into key functional areas including:
> Multimedia
> Digital/Web
> Departmental Marketing
> Trade Shows
> Graphics/Labels

POSITION INFORMATION:
The Digital Marketing Intern will assist with the coordination of Contec's myriad social media platforms and channels in a consistent ‘on brand’ voice in line with our high standards. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
>Ensures our BU websites are optimized for search engines and identify suitable websites or outside content to build links to/with.

>Increases the number of followers, ‘likes’ and audiences for our digital marketing and social media outputs.

>Uses digital methods, e-newsletters, and offline marketing mediums to increase engagement among target customers and evaluate metrics with marketing team and relevant Business Units

>Monitors, reports and analyzes results to improve performance, using tools such as Google analytics and others.

>Fully exploits the social media and digital marketing relevant to Contec trade events.

>Works closely with the Web Coordinator and liaises with external agencies and designers as appropriate.

>Participates and works within ISO 9001-2008 quality standards guidelines in accordance with Contec’s quality goals.

> Other duties may be assigned by the Chief Marketing Officer as needed.

ANTICIPATED LEARNING/EXPERIENCE OUTCOMES FOR INTERN:
> Real-world understanding of the link between digital and social media platforms and the brands they are leveraged to support/build.

> Strong feel for relevant metrics and how to "tweak" or pivot SEO and other online tactics to maximize customer engagement

> Comraderie and relationship building across an integrated marketing team and the business units/functions it works to support.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Junior (60hrs) or Senior (90hrs) pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent from a four-year college with a concentration in Marketing/Communications, Digital Marketing, Web Design is preferred. However, equivalent studies that demonstrate critical thinking, superior organizational skills and excellent communication abilities will also be considered.

COMPETENCIES:
>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

>Ability to work in a team environment.
Performs duties with the highest regard for safety and quality.

>Ability to understand and follow site protocols, policies and procedures.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Fluent in oral and written English. Able to read and interpret documents such as competitive literature, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Able to speak and interact effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, volume, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:
Able to solve problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited information exists. Able to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, visual or spreadsheet format. Able to start and finish tasks with limited direction and resources.
